Innovation born in the field<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At ETF, innovation does not come solely from the design office: it emerges directly from the field<\/strong>, driven by employees who experience the constraints of the construction site on a daily basis. It was in this spirit that, last November, ETF teams took part in the innovation competition organised by VINCI Construction’s Networks Division in France<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the competition was to encourage practical ideas<\/strong> for improving safety, performance, the environment and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result: out of a total of 280 projects submitted, 83 were submitted by ETF<\/strong>, illustrating our strong culture of collaborative innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Focus on the \u2018Measurement outside the danger zone\u2019 project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Among the winning ETF projects, the one led by Laxsan Sandrauthaiam<\/strong>, an apprentice engineer, particularly caught the attention of the judges: \u2018Measurement outside the danger zone\u2019<\/strong>: a simple, effective solution focused on the safety of workers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initial observation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On railway construction sites, certain measurement<\/strong> operations are carried out in close proximity to moving machinery, exposing operators to the risk of accidents and uncomfortable working positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The solution implemented<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To address this issue, Laxsan and his team developed a contactless measurement system<\/strong>, combined with an internal digital interface<\/strong>, which allows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Remote measurements to be taken<\/strong> outside the danger zone<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Work to be carried out standing up<\/strong>, reducing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Data to be processed in real time<\/strong> for better management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      The result: a significant improvement in safety and working conditions, with a direct impact on site performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Next step: towards industrialisation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      The project does not stop there. It is now being transposed to Android<\/strong> to make it accessible on smartphones, and a new version<\/strong> is in the pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      ETF, a company where innovation is everyone’s business<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      This project illustrates one of the pillars of ETF’s culture: listening to the field<\/strong> and valuing individual initiatives<\/strong>, whether they come from a site manager, a site supervisor or an apprentice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
