They facilitate everyday travel, boost the local economy, support employment and enable a modal shift towards rail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1693\">\u27a1\ufe0f In 2025, there will be <strong>7,600 km<\/strong> of lines, of which <strong>7,100 km will be in operation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f 70% of these lines will have fewer than 20 services per day&#8230; but they are essential for thousands of residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1696\">Apr\u00e8s des d\u00e9cennies de d\u00e9sengagement progressif, l\u2019heure est \u00e0 la r\u00e9activation, \u00e0 la modernisation et \u00e0 la s\u00e9curisation. Plusieurs dispositifs d\u2019investissement en t\u00e9moignent :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ember1695\"><strong><strong>Investing in the local network<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>State-Region Plan<\/strong>, consolidated with <strong>\u20ac500 million per year in 2024<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Railway Future Plan<\/strong>, for lines deemed \u2018structural\u2019<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The European <strong>Recovery Plan<\/strong>, mobilised from 2020<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1700\">New arrangements are also emerging: <strong>direct regional management<\/strong>, comprehensive operating contracts, and local pooling of expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ember1701\"><strong><strong>At the regional level, tailor-made engineering<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1702\">Renovating a fine line requires a combination of <strong>technical expertise<\/strong>, <strong>local logistics<\/strong> and <strong>enhanced coordination<\/strong>. At ETF, these projects draw on all our know-how: tailored methods, co-construction with local authorities, professional integration and consideration of constraints on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1703\"><strong>Each line that is reactivated, modernised or made safer<\/strong> means more resilient and inclusive rail mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><em>Discover three concrete examples of projects carried out on local rail lines: &#8211; Reconnection of local lines between Poitiers and Limoges &#8211; Railway improvements south of Bordeaux (AFSB) &#8211; Modernisation of the Laon-Hirson line<\/em><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/etf\/\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ember1705\">Poitiers\u2013Limoges: a regional line regains its potential<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1706\">In Vienne, ETF is working on <strong>50 km of the Poitiers\u2013Limoges<\/strong> line as part of the Railway Investment Plan (PDIFer). The objective is to <strong>modernise a local service line<\/strong> that is essential for regional mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1707\">Working in partnership with T\u00e9r\u00e9lian (co-contractor, VINCI Construction), BTPS and Unifer, the teams are renewing the track and ballast while improving drainage and the platform. This project addresses two challenges: <strong>improving daily commutes<\/strong> and <strong>preparing for the future connection to the Bordeaux\u2013Toulouse high-speed rail line<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1718\">Our teams are replacing the existing catenary system with the CS2R system along 7 km of track in an urban area. This essential line connects rural areas and small towns, facilitating the daily commute of 1,500 students and freight transport, while supporting the local economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work involves renewing the track and ballast, including 30.7 km using a factory train, and modernising 28 level crossings and nearly 38 railway bridges, ensuring the long-term future of this strategic infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond the technical aspects, ETF is making this project part of a strong regional impact approach by incorporating a professional integration policy.
