The purpose of this sleeper replacement work was to preserve the legendary C\u00e9venol line, which has connected Clermont-Ferrand to N\u00eemes for over a century and a half.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overcoming the challenges of a complex railway environment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This project, which ran from 15 March to 2 June, presented us with a complex environment, marked by restricted access and a multitude of engineering structures, including viaducts and tunnels. However, our expertise enabled us to meet the tight deadlines in just 11 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work included replacing 5,200 wooden sleepers, substituting 1,250 metres of rails, renovating a level crossing, 180 metres of localised cleaning, and tamping no less than 25 km in total. In collaboration with Daniel Pastre et Fils, we also successfully drained the track over a distance of 280 metres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technical resources mobilised for optimal results<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To carry out this large-scale project, we mobilised five rail-road excavators, two locomotives, one tamping machine, and one levelling machine, and deployed up to 50 people to the site during the peak period of activity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images
