This project, identified as a priority by SNCF R\u00e9seau, has been entrusted to ETF for all railway works. After three years of construction, the level crossing will be replaced by a structure that will make the area safer by separating the different types of traffic (pedestrians, rail and road).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With more than 150 employees mobilised for this 62-hour operation, the ETF teams renewed 800 metres of track and ballast on both sides of the level crossing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Removal of existing track<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Earthworks (VINCI Terrassement)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installation of 120 metres of track panels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This work required no fewer than 24 PEM-LEMs and the use of a Kirow crane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to minimise disruption to users and local residents, pedestrian traffic was maintained throughout the weekend at the level crossing. The teams adapted their work to limit the passage of machinery and ensure the safety of all pedestrians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After receiving congratulations from their client SNCF R\u00e9seau, the teams are already hard at work finalising preparations for the next operation, which will take place in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Level crossing No. 9, located in the Fontaine-Michalon district of Antony, sees nearly 8,500 vehicles and a large number of pedestrians cross paths with more than a hundred RER and TGV trains every day. This heavy road traffic in the heart of the city on a busy section of the \u00cele-de-France rail network represents a particularly accident-prone situation. In his decision of 5 August 2016, the Prefect of Hauts-de-Seine requested the removal of this level crossing, which is ranked as the second most dangerous level crossing in the \u00cele-de-France region.<\/em><em>France.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:33px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This weekend, the project to remove level crossing No. 9 in Antony saw its first major operation.
