For nearly two months, ETF teams have been working to restore traffic on the LGV Est Europ\u00e9enne high-speed rail line.This major rail link between north-eastern France, Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg was cut off after a landslide at the beginning of March.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially scheduled for 16 March, the start of the work had to be postponed following the lockdown of the entire French population. However, the importance of this line led SNCF R\u00e9seau to classify this project as a priority.<\/strong> It was therefore the first to resume <\/strong>on 14 April with reduced teams and health measures that were unprecedented at the time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All sectors of the agency responded by mobilising human and material resources to carry out this operation. In addition to its own teams, the Grand Est agency was able to count on the unfailing support of the Travaux M\u00e9canis\u00e9s, Nord and Suite Rapide Zone Dense agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ETF’s involvement in this project is natural. Indeed, it already has a long history with the LGV Est high-speed line. In 2015, ETF participated in the creation of the railway system for the second phase of the line. In fact, the G1206TVM locomotives that were initially used for construction are now being used to restore it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
