{"id":12524240,"date":"2018-05-23T12:07:04","date_gmt":"2018-05-23T10:07:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.etf.fr\/uncategorized\/renouvellement-gare-paris-montparnasse\/"},"modified":"2025-09-30T10:20:32","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T08:20:32","slug":"renouvellement-gare-paris-montparnasse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.etf.fr\/en\/agence-idf-en\/renouvellement-gare-paris-montparnasse\/","title":{"rendered":"A major renovation for Paris-Montparnasse station!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>From 5 to 13 May 2018, a huge construction project took place at Paris-Montparnasse station to replace 17 sets of points.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>This project is of crucial importance for the station, which welcomes more than 50 million passengers every year and is the transit point for all trains travelling to the west of France. The aim of this work is to improve the reliability of a system that is over 30 years old, but above all to improve the flow of train traffic.<\/p>\n<p>The main work was carried out during a week of reduced traffic with several bridges in order to minimise disruption to users. Given the importance of this project, the SNCF was also keen to meet the deadlines despite the current industrial action.<\/p>\n<p>Each day, different teams made up of several entities took turns: ETF Voie, ETF Services, ETF Cat\u00e9naires, etc. In total, nearly 80 people worked day and night to ensure the work was completed successfully.<\/p>\n<p>This major project began in the summer of 2017 with a preparatory phase to draft the general schedule in collaboration with the client, SNCF. The project was then divided into three phases: eight weeks of preparatory work, nine days of main work in three eight-hour shifts, four nights and one weekend of finishing work, and three weeks of
