A storm that caused damage to the line<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When the ETF teams arrived at 2 p.m. on Friday, 9 January, the situation was clear. Several trees had fallen across both tracks, two catenary poles were seriously damaged, and the cable on one of the two tracks had been cut. This damage interrupted traffic on the longest RER line in \u00cele-de-France (194 kilometres) between the Corbeil-Essonnes (91) and Melun (77) stops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An experienced team for effective intervention<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On Friday afternoon, ETF agents began assessing the work to be done. On Saturday morning, 11 ETF agents, along with equipment and management staff, were mobilised. Initially, our teams helped to clear the site using a rail-road excavator. Following the studies carried out the previous day, it was decided to use the existing foundations to install the new catenary poles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our teams’ work was completed on Monday 12 January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ETF is proud to be able to respond to emergencies such as this one thanks to its experts’ knowledge of the terrain and experience. RER D services resumed on the morning of Wednesday 14 January, allowing the line’s 630,000 daily users to travel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
