5 consecutive high-impact operations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To minimise the impact on rail traffic, most of the work was carried out at night. However, certain phases had to continue over several weekends in March and April, requiring a temporary reduction in services. Teams from ETF\u2019s Eastern Region have already carried out four consecutive intensive works operations , each requiring teams to work continuously for 36 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only a fifth and final intensive works operations remains, scheduled to last 16 hours, which will enable the replacement of a large set of points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The constant presence of multi-skilled supervisors (team leaders) from ETF Services during these intensive works operations ensured an immediate response throughout the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cross-functional synergy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Up to 40 experts were deployed on this project, half of whom were from ETF teams. Coordination between the various trades and the teams\u2019 constant commitment were essential to the success of the operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The track teams worked closely with ETF Services to operate and support the work trains, as well as to provide rail safety services. ETF\u2019s catenary teams were also involved in carrying out the installation and adjustment of the catenary systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project benefited from additional heavy mechanised equipment provided by ETF\u2019s Mechanised Works division: 4 locomotives, 1 tamping machine, 1 stabiliser and several PEM\/LEM machines were deployed, enabling a sustained pace of work and ensuring the project was completed on schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This renewal project makes a lasting contribution to enhancing the safety, regularity and flow of rail traffic on the Greater East network.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

At Onville station (54), north of Pont-\u00e0-Mousson, SNCF R\u00e9seau is carrying out a major programme to modernise the railway infrastructure as part of the national RAVI (Industrialised Track Equipment Renewal) contract.
