{"id":15903545,"date":"2026-05-07T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.etf.fr\/uncategorized\/etf-modernise-la-signalisation-et-les-infrastructures-de-laxe-moret-montereau\/"},"modified":"2026-07-06T11:42:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-06T09:42:14","slug":"etf-is-modernising-the-signalling-and-infrastructure-on-the-moretmontereau-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.etf.fr\/en\/rail-mobility\/etf-is-modernising-the-signalling-and-infrastructure-on-the-moretmontereau-line\/","title":{"rendered":"ETF is modernising the signalling and infrastructure on the Moret\u2013Montereau line"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New facilities to ensure the line\u2019s long-term viability<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This project aims to refurbish a facility that has become dilapidated, in order to ensure the long-term reliability of operations on this strategic transport route in the southern \u00cele-de-France region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Teams from the Civil Engineering\/Signalling (GC\/SIG) agency carried out work to replace the automatic light-emitting signal units (BAL). The works involved refurbishing the signals, replacing the optical light-emitting signal units, refurbishing the existing installations and replacing nearly 11 kilometres of high-voltage and signalling cables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The civil engineering teams began work by laying trunk sewers, installing high-voltage cables and constructing the platforms that now house the new shelters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The signalling teams then took over to ensure that the old signal boxes were replaced by the six new shelters. This new, modern equipment extends the lifespan of the communications systems but, above all, provides safer working conditions for the maintenance teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A project that can adapt to the situation on the ground<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The site\u2019s location, on the banks of the Seine and close to areas subject to the highest recorded water levels, required careful technical adaptation. The civil engineering teams therefore constructed a higher, custom-built platform for one of the shelters. Several geotechnical surveys were carried out to precisely characterise the nature of the ground and determine the dimensions of the concrete slabs. These analyses ensure the stability of the structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In one section of the site, to address the terrain constraints, an L-shaped wall was erected to retain the earth and secure the technical platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A project aimed at improving the performance of the rail network<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main objective of this project was clear: to ensure the continuity of train services, reduce breakdowns, minimise cancellations and improve the punctuality of services.
