Since the start of the year, ETF has refurbished the 20-kilometre Oiry\u2013Pringy line and the 35.6-kilometre Ch\u00e2lons-en-Champagne\u2013Sillery line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, for the third project of the year, 130 ETF staff members are working in Abbeville. This project highlights the diversity of roles within ETF, as all specialisms are represented, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The RRI agency, which is responsible for carrying out track works;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ETF Catenary, which is responsible for erecting and adjusting the catenary;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ETF Civil Engineering\/Signalling (GC\/SIG), which installs both temporary and permanent safety systems;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ETF Services, which is responsible for the safety of our staff;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Industrialised Rolling Stock Maintenance (MMI) agency, which carries out maintenance on equipment during the works;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not to mention our partner SFERIS, which carries out the removal and reinstallation of security systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This construction project, which runs through the Baie de Somme Regional Nature Park, is situated within a Type I and II Area of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest, as well as a Natura 2000 site. The ETF teams are working to minimise the project\u2019s impact on the surrounding natural environment in order to protect a number of habitats and species that are representative of European biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This project also has a technical feature, namely the use of NP fasteners with Plastirails sleeves, which are more complex to install than standard fasteners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A visit worth noting to mark the start of the project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the second week of the main works on the project, the current Chairman and Chief Executive of the SNCF Group, Mr Jean Castex, came to greet our teams on Wednesday 29 April. The former French Prime Minister was able to visit the base camp in Longueau to see the preparatory work being carried out ahead of the track works and to explain the importance of this project for passengers in the Hauts-de-France region, who will be able to travel to Amiens (80) from Charles de Gaulle Airport.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ETF teams working on the Rapid Industrialised Track Renewal (RRI) programme are starting their third project of the year on the Abbeville\u2013Rang-du-Fliers line.
