ETF to build the extension of tramway line A in Bordeaux

Publié le 12 November 2020

This is good news for the end of 2020. Bordeaux Métropole has renewed its confidence in ETF, which has just won the contract to extend line A of the tramway.

The 5 km long extension includes the creation of 5 new stations from “Quatre Chemins” to Mérignac airport. The tramway will run on a single track with a double track at each station. This will involve the installation of switches on both sides of each new station, ten in total.

An engineering structure will also be built to enable the tramway to cross the ring road.

Work on the track is currently being prepared and should begin in March 2021. To carry out this project, the major projects teams of ETF (lead contractor) are in a consortium with Eurovia and ETF Caténaires. Eurovia will carry out the civil engineering works, ETF GPTUF will implement the track and ETF Caténaires will be responsible for the overhead contact lines.
