ETF will build the railway infrastructure for the Donges industrial site bypass
Rail’s infrastructure for the Donges industrial site bypass project (44). Declared to be in the public interest, this new track will enable the line connecting Nantes, Saint-Nazaire and Le Croisic to bypass the site, thereby reducing the potential risks it poses.
A project on the national rail network serving our private customers
Accustomed to carrying out numerous projects for Total Raffinage, the ETF teams are familiar with the Donges industrial site, its specific features and constraints. This experience was decisive for ETF. The teams were able to draw up a bid and an organisational proposal that closely matched the needs of this particular environment.
This local footprint is also reflected in the general organisation of the project. Building on its relationship with the GPMNSN in Nantes, ETF is drawing on the resources it can offer, particularly in terms of space. The base, storage facilities and work trains will thus be stored and supplied directly on the port rail network.
Our teams were able to count on an extensive local network and strong relationships with their clients, who once again placed their trust in ETF’s expertise.
A major public utility project
Designated a public utility project in 2017, this project is motivated by the objective of reducing the railway’s exposure to industrial risks. The railway section will begin in early 2021, with commissioning scheduled for 2022.
With Systra as project manager, ETF is constructing
- 2 x 4.5 km of new track,
- the associated catenary
- the earthworks and hydraulic works related to the transfer of the track to its new route
- and the cable ducts (infrastructure for all signalling).
To carry out this project, the ETF Atlantique agency (lead contractor) has teamed up with: ETF Caténaires, VINCI Construction Terrassement and AVENEL.
