Through the eyes of Drissa, a maintenance technician at the Equipment Maintenance Agency (AMM), discover a job that is hands-on, technical, human and constantly evolving.

A key role in guaranteeing the performance of railway equipment 

Having joined ETF 5 years ago as a boilermaker-welder, Drissa is now a key expert in preventive maintenance. Having completed a work-linked training course with a vocational baccalaureate in metal structure, he was able to progress rapidly within the teams thanks to his rigour, versatility and collaborative spirit. 

Technical missions, a global vision

Drissa’s day-to-day life is a perfect illustration of the demands and challenges of working as a maintenance technician in the rail sector: 

  • Preventive maintenance on specialised track-laying machinery 
  • Continuous innovation, in conjunction with worksites, to improve equipment performance 
  • Teamwork, mutual aid and communication to avoid production stoppages 
  • Advanced technical skills: boiler making, welding, specific repairs

These operations require autonomy, analytical skills, adaptability and a detailed knowledge of railway machinery.
