In the heart of Paris, ETF maintains the tracks of the RER C regional express network.

Les équipes de l’agence ETF Centre/Île-de-France, en groupement avec TSO, se sont mobilisées tout au loONG during the summer to successfully maintain 1,500 metres of track on the RER C line.

This project, carried out on behalf of SNCF Réseau, is part of the CASTOR operation. Various phases of work have been scheduled every summer for more than 20 years to gradually maintain and modernise the infrastructure of this historic line.

A project full of challenges:

• Human, with nearly 60 operational staff divided between the work zone and the rear base, working in continuous shifts for five weeks.

• Logistical, with the site located on a viaduct in the heart of the capital.
• Technical, with very tight curves and the installation of anchor spikes to stabilise the track.

Such regeneration work has never been carried out since its refurbishment in 1988.
