ETF regional teams prepare for the arrival of Rapid Suites

From 15 August to 23 December 2022, the ETF teams from the East agency carried out related works and track works on the line connecting Thionville station (57) and Zoufftgen station (Luxembourg border).

Prior to the track work, related work was carried out to ensure the safety and durability of the structures. This was followed by the start of track renewal work (1,200 metres) at Thionville station, before the arrival of the Suite Rapide trains.

It is from the town of Thionville that the Major Projects teams will begin their 2023 track regeneration campaign.

This project required the teams to be highly adaptable in terms of technical skills and versatility. With track laying initially planned to be carried out in sections and a projected output of 120 metres per shift, the operational teams had to review their methodology following unforeseen circumstances on site, which made this impossible. The team carried out the laying directly ‘in situ’ with peak outputs reaching the projected targets.
