A high-profile project
On 8 May, the Projects division of the Railway Civil Engineering agency installed a signalling gantry at Epinay station. This work was carried out in a ‘blitz’ operation, i.e. continuously without interruption, with teams working in succession.
The gantry, which is 9 metres high and equipped with two platforms for traffic lights, spans two tracks with a 13-metre-long span. The gantry, which was prepared in advance at a nearby assembly area, was installed in three sections (two columns and the span) by a 100-tonne self-propelled crane on two foundations that had been cast during the preparatory phase.
The order also included the installation of JIC rails (enabling track canting) carried out in collaboration with ETF’s North agency.
