Modernisation of Line 6: use of the MP89
As part of the Line 6 modernisation project, ETF deployed its brand new rolling stock, the MP89, to carry out strategic track works at Nation, Picpus and Bel Air.
In total, more than 500 linear metres of track were renewed, including the replacement of ballast and sleepers, and the reinforcement of conductor rail supports.
This summer, during this month-long Operation Coup de Poing (OCP) from 20 July to 19 August, our teams redoubled their efforts on this crucial section. A logistical feat was accomplished with the installation of a road transhipment platform on Boulevard Picpus to transport the materials needed for this major project.
The traction of the work trains was entrusted to our specially adapted rail/road tractor vehicles, enabling RATP and ETF to coordinate and carry out several projects in parallel. This synergy increased our intervention capacity tenfold, ensuring the efficient modernisation of Line 6.
This busy summer was marked by flawless coordination, achieved thanks to the efficiency of our teams and the renewed confidence of the RATP.
