VIGIRAIL

From April to September this year, the largest Vigirail project site was located north of Paris. In Creil, on the busy Paris-Lille line, teams had to replace 3.5 kilometres of RVB and 32 track devices, often under significant time constraints to complete the work and return the tracks to service on schedule. Working in three shifts, at weekends and during the summer holidays, the project required a significant investment from the teams. Michel de Maria, the project manager, notes, “Everyone involved worked hard to ensure that the project was completed successfully. ” To assist ETF Voies with this project, numerous EUROVIA Group agencies were mobilised: Jean Lefebvre for earthworks, ETF Services for autonomous traction of work trains and traffic announcements, ETF Caténaires for electrical protection and catenary adjustment, as well as the ETF Centre Ile-de-France, Paris Nord and Ouest agencies. The highlight of this collaboration took place over a two-week period in July. It was a positive experience for Michel de Maria, who sums it up as follows: ‘A large part of the Group’s specialities were represented on this project, and we really worked together in synergy.’ While the collaboration between all these Group agencies facilitated the completion of the work within the allotted time frame, it also required a significant amount of coordination.
