An award-winning innovation at ArcelorMittal Dunkirk
ETF has been awarded an innovation prize by the CEI (Comité d’Etablissement Interentreprises) of ArcelorMittal Dunkirk. This competition highlights concrete solutions to improve safety and efficiency on the ground.
A railway consignor challenge
During the rapid interventions on the track machines (cleaning and lubricating of the bearings, replacement of stops), the crews used a rail coupon to block the maneuver of the counterneedle blade under 180 bar pressure. Although quick to implement, this method did not allow for the installation of consignor locks, limiting the safety of operations.
A simple and effective solution
To meet this need, ETF has developed an innovative lockable clamp that is easy to install from the top of the switch. This tool ensures optimal safety of interventions while preventing the movement of the needle. This tool not only improves safety, but it is also cost-effective, with a manufacturing cost limited to €220. This example illustrates how small, low-cost innovations can effectively respond to real needs in the field, while being quick to implement.

A strong partnership with ArcelorMittal
Working for many years at ArcelorMittal’s sites, particularly in Dunkirk, ETF is proud to contribute to the continuous improvement of practices, thus guaranteeing the safety of the client’s work teams and employees.
