AKIEM, a major player in rail leasing, launches construction of a rail maintenance workshop in Ostricourt, in the Hauts-de-France region
On 29 June in Ostricourt, our teams officially inaugurated the works by laying the first railway tracks.
A site visit was organised, highlighting a rail weld that symbolises the union of our forces for this ambitious project.
Phase 1: Ballast Track – May to End of July 2023
Over the last few months, teams from ETF’s North agency have successfully completed the first phase of the project. This stage, which ran from May to the end of July 2023, was entirely dedicated to the ballast track. No less than 1,100 metres of ballast track were laid, accompanied by the installation of 10 track switches, including two three-way connections.
Phase 2: Track Laying – Mid-October 2023 to March 2024
Currently on hold until mid-October 2023 to allow for the progress of the structural work, our project will resume with phase 2: track laying. This stage will continue until March 2024, marking a crucial step forward in the construction of our new workshop.
