Training for prevention

Publié le 14 March 2023

The health and safety of our employees and the protection of the environment are key commitments for ETF, which are reflected in our daily actions! Training is one of the main areas of focus for prevention. It raises awareness and supports our teams in the continuous improvement of our methods and practices.

At ETF’s North agency, operational and management teams came together to participate in safety and environmental awareness training. Over two days, they attended five workshops combining fun games, role-playing and discussions. Organised between January and February 2023, a quieter period in terms of operational activity, these sessions brought together a total of nearly 160 employees.

Fire risk awareness workshop

The teams first attended a theoretical training session on fire risk and the first steps to take. Thanks to a mobile fire unit that recreated a fire outbreak, participants were then able to carry out a fire extinguishing exercise on a real fire.

Beyond the professional context, this workshop also raised employees’ awareness of the risks of domestic fires and taught them the correct actions to take.

Workshop to raise awareness of MSDs (musculoskeletal disorders) and psychosocial risks(PSRs)

This workshop took the form of a board game in which two teams competed against each other on questions related to MSDs and PSRs. The answers and discussions helped participants correct their everyday movements and postures, thereby improving their quality of life at work, maintaining muscle tone and enabling better sleep and rest.

Workshop to raise awareness about psychoactive substance use

The aim of this workshop was to provide information about the types of psychoactive substances and their consequences. It was also an opportunity to remind participants that regular testing can be carried out.

Eco-driving awareness workshop

Thanks to an eco-driving simulator, our employees were able to (re)learn the basics and benefits of smoother, more environmentally friendly driving. After completing one session driving as they normally would and a second session applying eco-driving rules, employees saw an average reduction of 1L/100km

Whether in their personal or professional lives, adopting this driving style reduces the risk of road accidents and saves on fuel costs.

Workshop to raise awareness of the correct use of PPE

PPE is mandatory on all our construction sites and back-end bases. Each specific task requires specific PPE. Teams took part in a quiz asking them to match the right protective equipment to the right task.
