End of construction for Nice tram line 3

On 7 October, the city of Nice celebrated the laying of the last section of track in the presence of the mayor, Christian Estrosi, and former minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin. This project, consisting of two lots, tunnel and surface, required three years of work with an average workforce of 80 people. To complete it, ETF called on the synergy of its teams, bringing in teams from ETF Caténaires and ETF Luxembourg! This vast project in a few figures:
  • ­48,000 sleepers (Sateba TW120 and ASP4)
  • 4,000 tonnes of rail (75% 54G2 grooved rail / 25% 50E6 Vignole rail)
  • 40 equivalent connections on concrete floor
  • 4,700 welds (80% electric, mostly carried out by ETF Luxembourg, 20% aluminothermic)
  • 25,000 m³ of foundation concrete (type C20/25)
  • 19,600 m³ of track bedding concrete (type C35/45)
  • 9 different types of track laying (conventional concrete/-10dBv/-20dBv, posts, bonded, conventional green track/-10dBv, sliding)
