After six months of work, the ETF Lyon teams have just completed the extension of the storage facilities at the Meyzieu tram maintenance centre. For this project, ETF was the lead contractor alongside Jean Lefebvre Rhône-Alpes for the entire ‘Platform and Railway Track’ lot. A welding team from the ETF Rhône Alpes Auvergne welding division (ETF Lyon) and a team from ETF Luxembourg were also involved in carrying out the aluminothermic welding. The smooth coordination and cooperation between all the teams involved in this project ensured its success and smooth organisation. Different phases of the project: – Direct laying of 850 ml of track on a monolithic slab – Extension of the 8 existing storage tracks – Creation of 2 new 200 ml storage tracks – Curved rail connection track (by ETF Luxembourg) with a radius of 25 m. – Installation of a curved connection on sleepers and new structure – Direct installation of a connection inserted into the existing tracks. All of this work was carried out while the workshops remained in operation. The new tracks allow 16 additional 43-metre trains to be parked at the Meyzieu maintenance centre. The connection to the existing tracks was installed in sections.
