Nantes tramway

The Nantes sector, working as part of a consortium, renovated the Nantes tramway tracks in the Place du Commerce area. After 30 years of operation, the busiest urban area in Nantes was in dire need of major maintenance. Large-scale work was carried out this summer on a schedule planned down to the quarter hour. Commercial traffic was interrupted for six weeks in the area and road diversions were put in place as the work progressed. To cope with this long interruption for users, but short in view of the nature and volume of the work, around 40 employees worked in two shifts throughout the summer period. Key figures for the project: 12 simple connections replaced, 4 diagonal crossings replaced, 2 km of rail, 250 aluminothermic welds, 900m3 of concrete, 1600m² of reconstituted paving, 700m² of reconstituted paving.
