Connection works for the future T10 tramway

Publié le 20 September 2024

ETF teams, working as a consortium*, have started construction work on the tracks for the future T10 tram line, beginning with connections to the existing network. These operations mark the start of a major project for the Lyon Metropolitan Area and SYTRAL Mobilités.

From April to August 2024, ETF worked hard to install two bifurcations on two separate fronts:

  • Line T1 at the Tony Garnier Hall,
  • Line T4 at Vénissieux Station.

Meeting deadlines was a priority, particularly to ensure that lines T1 and T4 were back in service by the start of the new school year, which was essential for the smooth running of the Lyon network. ETF and its partners rose to the challenge by managing the significant coactivity of the various players and the space constraints in the areas of intervention.

The T10 tramway project also includes the construction of 8 km of double track and a maintenance centre.

This work is part of the Lyon Metropolitan Area’s “Destinations 2026” plan, which aims to develop sustainable mobility solutions. The extension of the tramway network is intended to limit private car use, reduce pollutant emissions and offer accessible transport alternatives for all.

* The consortium comprises: ETF (lead contractor), Eurovia, Jean Lefebvre, De Filipis, SOLS Confluence, Maïa Sonnier and Maïa Rail.
