A look back at the overhead line works in the Cimiez tunnel
ETF carried out work for SNCF Réseau to renew the catenary in the Cimiez railway tunnel (Nice).
This project, which began at the end of January and was completed at the beginning of May, involved:
- Removing and then reinstalling 150 pendulums, which are components used to suspend the contact wire from the carrying cable.
- The removal and replacement of 700 metres of overhead protection cable (CdPA).
- The installation of protected supports.
- The replacement of 25 asbestos-containing fittings, equipment located on the pole and designed to support the catenary.
This project was a success, despite the health conditions, thanks to the unfailing commitment of the catenary agency teams.
