On 27 September 2025, in Bornheim, in the Cologne district, the Hausmann company celebrated its 80th anniversary. Eight decades of expertise in railway works, passion for infrastructure, and since March 2025, a new chapter has been written alongside ETF.

An anniversary worthy of the company’s history

Hausmann celebrated its 80th anniversary in style. On 27 September, employees, families and partners gathered for a festive and unifying event. The programme included a concert by local band Die Räuber, inflatable games for children, and even several demonstrations of road-rail excavators with a driver. It was a convivial moment, reflecting the company’s image: close to its teams, rooted in its territory, and looking to the future.

A family and iron business

Founded in May 1945 by Peter Hausmann senior, the company began in a context of post-war reconstruction. Initially active in earthworks and road construction, it quickly specialised in railway infrastructure. From the 1950s onwards, it invested in cutting-edge technologies, such as Plasser & Theurer tamping machines, and developed innovative solutions for railways, noise barriers, civil engineering and construction.

Today, Hausmann has 105 employees and a fleet of around ten rail-road excavators. The company is recognised for its strong local presence.

Quality, safety and local roots: the pillars of Hausmann

Safety has always been a top priority for Hausmann. Every project is carried out with rigour, in compliance with the most stringent standards. The company also focuses on the quality of its services, the continuous training of its teams, and a relationship of trust with its customers.

A human-sized company with deep roots in its region, Hausmann embodies a vision of rail transport that is local, responsible and innovation-oriented. With ETF, Hausmann intends to continue on this path, working towards a more modern, safer and more sustainable rail network in Germany.
