Duo Day: A day of inclusion and discovery of the QPE profession

Publié le 29 January 2026

On 20 November 2025, ETF once again took part in DUO Day. This is a day dedicated to welcoming people with disabilities, who are paired with a volunteer employee. For this edition, the QPE (Quality, Prevention, Environment) profession was in the spotlight with Gilles Mercier, QPE manager for the North region, who welcomed Pierre for a discussion with the ETF teams.

An immersive day at the heart of the QPE profession

Organised in advance by Gilles, the day began early with a site visit. Pierre was able to discover the construction site environment from the inside, as well as how it is prepared: team briefing and safety briefing. As Gilles explains: ‘The QPE’s job is the construction site,’ so he was able to show Pierre the importance of a QPE’s support in the field to ensure that operations run smoothly.

After an intense and enriching morning, Pierre was able to discover the premises of the North agency, in the Lens area (62), by visiting the workshop. The afternoon was filled with discussions with the various people in the offices who also ensure the continuity of the work in the field.

An enriching exchange for Pierre and Gilles

These inspiring interludes remind us of the importance of introducing people to the world of railways and promoting inclusion and diversity, the pillars of a more united future.

We look forward to repeating the initiative in 2026 to continue promoting our expertise and commitment.
