COVID representative, the health guardian on construction sites

Faced with this pandemic, we had to react immediately and find solutions that were up to the task. To do this, we created a new position, mandatory on construction sites, the Covid Referent. To train them, a whole new, specific training module was created in just a few weeks.

The Covid Referent is a designated supervisor who ensures that health measures are properly followed. Supported by a Covid Watchdog, they are present on the construction site from its preparation until the last day of work. Their mission is to enforce the protective measures and Covid-19-specific prevention guidelines established by the OPPBTP and the company. They play an essential role in maintaining our business and the good health of our employees. To enable the Covid Referent to fulfil their role and missions, a specific e-learning training course was developed by ETF ACADEMY at the start of lockdown.

Now available for eight days, this unique training module was created based on government guidelines and feedback from the field. With nearly 60 people already trained, more than 150 employees are currently positioned to take this online module. This training course has been designed and developed to apply to all our business lines. After a 45-minute training course and two quizzes, a certificate of completion is provided to the candidate, who is then qualified to become a Covid Referent on a construction site.

Responsiveness, information sharing and teamwork between the field and other departments within the company have been key to the rapid resumption of our main construction sites. Today, the teams have adapted and are now able to carry out construction projects throughout France and around the world.

A second version is currently being prepared to introduce the role and missions of the Covid Watchdog!
