Ecological transition on the National Rapid Suite: goodbye to plastic bottles on our construction sites !

Publié le 15 January 2024

As part of our commitment to sustainable development, Suite Rapide Nationale continues to pursue eco-friendly initiatives to minimise its carbon footprint.

On VINCI Construction’s Environment Day, our agency recently announced an important measure: the elimination of plastic water bottles on track regeneration sites. We are now opting for personalised, reusable water bottles, thus demonstrating our commitment to the environment.

Thanks to the installation of mains-connected water fountains and the widespread use of sustainable water bottles, we anticipate a significant reduction in our CO2 emissions. This ambitious approach will enable us to reduce our carbon footprint by 42,623 kgCO2 per year, the equivalent of 280 car journeys between Paris and Marseille.

By adopting this new practice, we will also help reduce the amount of waste generated on our construction sites. We anticipate a reduction of 2.5 tonnes of plastic and 1 tonne of cardboard, a concrete step towards more responsible waste management.

These results will be the fruit of a collective effort, with the commitment of our team and the support of all our employees and partners. Together, we are preserving our ecosystems and actively contributing to building a more sustainable future.

We affirm our commitment to continuing this momentum by continually exploring new ways to reduce our environmental impact and encouraging sustainable practices in the railway sector. Our commitment to sustainable development remains at the heart of our actions, and we look forward to sharing more positive achievements in the future.
