Operation Coup de Prév’: healthcare professionals at work in the field!

Publié le 26 February 2026

From 19 to 22 February 2026, the ETF’s Occupational Health and Safety Department (SPST) team launched a unique initiative in close proximity to construction sites.

What is Operation Coup de Prév’?

Operation Coup de Prév’ (OCP) is the creation of a mobile occupational health unit that goes directly to meet ETF employees in the field. For this first initiative, the entire team travelled to Châlons-en-Champagne. They were able to set up stethoscopes, blood pressure monitors and other preventive diagnostic tools at the IN&MA training campus, located just 10 minutes from the project’s base. This proximity made it possible to carry out the mandatory periodic visits and a comprehensive health check-up. It reduces fatigue and road risks associated with travel for these workers who are subject to shift work. For this first operation, employees from the Grand Projet Suite Rapide RRI agency and operators from the MMI maintenance agency were able to benefit.

A tailor-made organisation

Over four days, from 2.30 p.m. to 11 p.m., the mobile unit was able to carry out the mandatory medical examinations and physical fitness assessments of 59 employees. These hours were chosen to fit in with the night-time constraints of the construction site.

Enhanced health support

A special circuit was set up with a reception room for gathering and individually completing standardised pre-visit questionnaires. Thanks in part to the investment in a connected PARSYS kit, a complete range of tests was then carried out: vision, hearing, breathing, electrical cardiac analysis, blood pressure, weight and fat distribution, metabolism, as well as an additional physical examination room. A finger prick blood test allows for instant analysis of blood sugar, cholesterol and circulating fat levels (Cardiocheck device).

Finally, the employee meets with the consultant for the examination. Based on the information gathered beforehand, targeted advice on modifiable risk factors is provided with the aim of reducing the possibility of a fatal or non-fatal cardiovascular event.

At the end of each individual programme, awareness of the risks associated with smoking was raised through targeted actions:

  • Distribution of samples of nicotine replacement therapies (patches, gum, chewing products)
  • Secure prescriptions sent for explanation, support and reimbursement at the chemist’s.

This operation was a success and paves the way for a more sustainable system with new interventions in the field for the ETF’s SPST. This action perfectly reflects the ETF’s raison d’être, with a desire to innovate on a daily basis to guarantee the health and well-being of our employees.
