ETF in Guinea Conakry
The consortium comprising Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction International Network) and ETF (Eurovia) is working on the project to partially double the railway line between Kamsar and Sangarédi in the west of the country.
Sogea-Satom teams are currently carrying out earthworks, while ETF teams will begin railway works and the laying of 37 km of track on new sections in March 2018. As part of the project, rail welding training has been provided in France to Chemins de fer de Boké (CFB), the operating company.
The improvement of this infrastructure will enable mining operators to export an additional 24 million tonnes of bauxite per year via this corridor, bringing the total capacity to 40 million tonnes per year. The work, which began in October 2017, will take 18 months to complete.
