A great success for ETF in Germany!

ETF teams renovated the Bonn-Rheinaue station between 1 October and 20 December 2019.

This civil engineering project was unique in that the station is located between two motorway lanes. It was therefore necessary to adapt to this very specific environment.

It was no coincidence that ETF was chosen by the city of Bonn to carry out this project! As the station is located in the middle of a motorway, one lane in each direction had to be closed to ensure the safety of the teams. This represented a very significant cost for the city of Bonn. By proposing a solution using prefabricated concrete platforms, ETF was able to reduce the construction time from 7 months to 3 months, thus limiting the disruption to the motorway.

Project details:

• demolition of the existing platform
• installation of a new 91-metre central platform
• dismantling of the existing roof

Thanks to the work of two teams of eight people equipped with two road-rail excavators, the project was completed on schedule.
