In the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, line 930,000 is a vital route for regional and cross-border mobility. Every day, thousands of passengers travel between Marseille, Nice and Italy. But between the sea and the mountains, there are numerous technical constraints: narrow tunnels, short sections between tunnels, station areas and limited access.

At a time when France is seeking concrete solutions to decarbonise transport and reduce road congestion, rail is back in the public debate. But behind the political ambitions, one thing is clear: rail infrastructure must remain reliable and efficient. While this transition is urgent, there are still many obstacles to overcome.

Our catenary experts have been working since November 2024 to lift more than 200 overhead contact line (OCL) supports and unroll 9 km of OCL.

On this section of the Lunéville–Sarrebourg line, 25,400 metres of track (50,800 metres of rails) were renewed in just 15 nights (20 nights planned), thanks to the commitment of the teams involved and the efficiency of the REVO factory train.

As part of the development of the TCL network, ETF is carrying out two major connection projects for its client SYTRAL Mobilités to link the future T9 line to the existing Lyon tramway infrastructure. These projects, based in La Soie and Croix-Luizet, are part of a strategy to ensure continuity of service and optimise the urban network.

They account for a quarter of the national rail network, but often remain little known. Local rail services nevertheless play a key role: connecting communities, opening up rural areas and supporting the local economy.

To maintain the efficiency of its tram network and ensure the safety of its infrastructure and equipment, SEMITAN (the public transport operator for the Nantes metropolitan area) is planning major renovation, development and safety improvement works.

Since 2023, VINCI Construction has been a partner of Cancer@Work, an association that supports companies in promoting the inclusion of people with long-term illnesses. This initiative works to promote the integration and retention in employment of people affected by cancer or chronic illness.

On 18 June in Lyon, ETF officially signed the Charter of 1,000 as part of the ‘Les entreprises s’engagent’ (Companies Commit) initiative. The event was attended by Nicolas Kaeser, Director of Major Urban Projects at ETF, Mory SEYE, Interim Director of the Maison Métropolitaine d’Insertion pour l’Emploi (MMIE) and SOW Abdoulaye, Deputy Mayor for Employment, Integration and Vocational Training, Digital Technology and Modernisation of Public Action.

ETF, as agent, and Colas Rail have been selected by the construction company Dragados-Besalco to carry out a new railway project in Chile on behalf of the national railway network operator EFE.

From 24 to 26 June 2025, ETF participated in the 14th edition of SIFER – the International Railway Industry Exhibition – at Lille Grand Palais. This major event brought together all players in the railway industry to discuss the sector’s key challenges and solutions for building the mobility of tomorrow.
