Connections between the future T9 line in Lyon and lines T1 and T3
As part of the development of the TCL network, ETF is carrying out two major connection projects for its client SYTRAL Mobilités to link the future T9 line to the existing Lyon tramway infrastructure. These projects, based in La Soie and Croix-Luizet, are part of a strategy to ensure continuity of service and optimise the urban network.
Work in La Soie: performance and mobilisation
For three weeks, from 19/04/25 to 02/05/25, 40 employees worked in two eight-hour shifts to remove an old single communication system and install a new cross-communication system on the ballast track.
This operation was carried out with a complete suspension of service on lines T3, T7 and Rhônexpress, requiring precise logistics and rigorous coordination.

Work in Croix-Luizet: precision in urban areas
The site is located in a complex environment: in the immediate vicinity of a campus during exam time, it required strict noise and traffic management. To limit disruption, the work was scheduled during the school holidays.
Service on the T1 line is scheduled to resume on 30 August, ensuring that it will be back in operation in time for the start of the academic year.

These projects demonstrate ETF’s expertise in modernising mobility infrastructure and adapting networks to the growing needs of sustainable urban transport.
The consortium comprises: ETF (lead contractor), Eurovia, Jean Lefebvre, De Filipis, SOLS Confluence, Maïa Sonnier and Maïa Rail.
