Extension of the Garossos storage centre at the heart of the Toulouse tram network
In Toulouse, on tram line T1, ETF carried out a strategic operation: the extension and connection of the Garossos depot, a strategic site in the network operated by Tisséo.
Carried out in partnership with VINCI Construction Group companies Eurovia and GTM Sud-Ouest, this project involved expanding the Garossos depot, located north of Toulouse, to accommodate the network’s growth and increase in tram fleet size.
The creation of a railway platform on the site will provide 12 additional spaces for tram maintenance, offering greater operational flexibility. Testing of the new infrastructure was completed at the end of 2025.
Technical constraints overcome
The work was carried out in a constrained environment, in the immediate vicinity of the operational depot. Teams from the Bordeaux (Atlantique agency) and Marseille sectors ensured that tram services continued to run throughout the duration of the works
This project demonstrates ETF’s ability to carry out complex railway projects in urban areas, while guaranteeing safety, performance and adherence to deadlines. It is a project that is fully in line with the drive to modernise and develop mobility in Toulouse.
