ETF Luxembourg moves forward with Infrabel
ETF Luxembourg will soon begin work on behalf of Infrabel at Welkenraedt station (Belgium). This project will be carried out in three phases, combining several areas of activity (railway signalling, civil engineering, railway works), all carried out by our in-house teams.
The first phase, lasting six weeks, will consist of modernising the railway signalling system to optimise train operations.
This optimisation will free up railway tracks to move on to the second phase of the project: the renewal of 10 track devices (5 on wooden sleepers, 5 on concrete sleepers), including the renewal of their foundation layer (-0.80 m below the sleepers, consisting of 0/200 and 0/32).
Finally, the last phase will consist of renewing four shunting tracks (RVB), each 400 metres long. This renewal will be accompanied by the renewal of the railway bed, the installation of track drainage and the renewal of the water and electricity supply system for locomotive maintenance.
