ETF mobilises during long weekends
During the Ascension and Pentecost weekends, the ETF teams from the Atlantic agency mobilised to waterproof the Petit Allier railway bridge (86). Located on the historic 570,000 line connecting Paris-Austerlitz to Bordeaux Saint-Jean, the project enabled our client, SNCF Réseau, to maintain this ageing structure and ensure the safety of passengers who use it.
Synergy between trades to serve users
To carry out this project, the ETF teams joined forces with Feroway and BTPS Atlantique. In a true team effort, FEROWAY carried out the consignment and inspection of the catenary. ETF took care of removing the tracks, ballast and earthworks over 80 metres. BTPS Atlantique was then able to renew the waterproofing of the engineering structure over a 60-metre stretch. Once this operation was complete, the ETF teams reinstalled the track with some renewal work and then cleared the area to allow trains to resume service.
Quality and timing on target
To complete this project while limiting the impact on passenger traffic, two intensive operations were carried out, one for each track. Around thirty ETF operational staff worked in three shifts over 44 hours. A few nights of work then allowed the finishing touches to be completed.
Thanks to everyone’s commitment, the tracks were ready four hours ahead of schedule on the first weekend and eight hours ahead of schedule on the second. This project management was praised by SNCF Réseau.
