The Donges industrial site railway bypass is well underway
ETF (agent), together with VINCI Construction Terrassement and AVENEL, is building a new track that will enable trains on the Nantes–Le Croisic line to bypass the Donges industrial zone. With several Seveso-classified sites in the area, this 4.5 km bypass will reduce the exposure of the railway line and its 60 daily trains to potential risks.
Blitz operations kick off the project
After an initial period of preparatory work, the project is now well underway with the installation of the eastern connection to the future track. Carried out in two 40-hour blitz operations during the first two weekends of April, the work was conducted jointly by ETF and VINCI Construction Terrassement.
Thanks to the work and synergy of the teams, these operations were carried out successfully, enabling 400 metres of platform to be reinforced, 2×400 metres of track/ballast to be renewed and two new sets of points to be installed. No fewer than 80 operational staff worked in shifts to complete the work over these two weekends and get the tracks back into service on time.
Following these operations, ETF will carry out two more intensive weekends of work. The consortium’s teams will then be able to begin construction of the platform and railway system on the bypass route.
Group synergy at the service of our projects
Complementary and coordinated, ETF and VINCI Construction Terrassement have created a real synergy at the service of their clients and the success of their projects. Over several years, a genuine relationship has been forged, resulting in numerous joint projects and common positions on many future projects.
This is particularly true in the Atlantic region, where these two VINCI Group entities currently have three major projects underway:
- Donges industrial site bypass
- Bridge repairs under a railway line in Montaigu
- Track renewal between Angoulême and Beillant
