Publié le 17 February 2020

ETF (project manager), in partnership with Colas Rail, will carry out the southern extension of line 14. With the aim of being operational for the 2024 Olympic Games, this project is one of the first steps in the commissioning of the Grand Paris project.

Project overview

Line 14 of the Paris Metro, currently 8.6 km long, will be extended north and south as part of the Grand Paris Express. 14 km long, the southern extension will serve 13 municipalities – mainly in Val-de-Marne (94) – and is expected to welcome 300,000 users every day. It will connect the current terminus and the airport in 15 minutes thanks to seven new stations.

Line 14 South will also be interconnected with metro line 7, RER C, tramway 7 and lines 15 South and 18 of the Grand Paris Express.

Details of the work

For its client, the RATP (project owner), the teams will build the 14.4 km of tunnel track that make up this extension: concrete tracks, single and cross communications, walkways, handrails and tunnel signage.

Currently in the planning stage, work will commence in early 2021.
