Tailor-made training for operators of the National Rapid Suite
After five months of maintenance, our Suite Rapide Nationale (P95) train will resume service in July 2022. This period provided an opportunity for its operators to receive tailored training.
Between theory and practice
The ETF Major Railway Projects teams, in collaboration with ETF Academy, have set up a specific training course for the National Rapid Response Team. Eleven operational staff members gathered for two weeks, from 13 to 24 June 2022, to review safety rules, the challenges of the National Rapid Response Unit, professional practices and railway technology. Part of the training also focused on management, particularly individual and collective roles in team success.
Railway safety was the focus of the discussions. During the various workshops, trainees discussed and practised:
- The correct response in the event of a fire
- Safe intervention in machinery
- Slinging rules
- Issues related to road risk using a simulator
- Prevention measures when working on adjacent tracks in use
Group synergy at the service of operational staff
ETF was able to count on the support of VINCI Construction, which made available its training centre, CESAME, located in Morelles-en-Hurpoix (91), not far from the ETF base in Brétigny-sur-Orge. This proximity to the field facilitated logistics and reduced the carbon footprint of trainee travel.
This initiative illustrates ETF Academy’s desire to better meet the requirements of operational staff and contribute to the overall performance of construction sites.
