Société du Grand Paris has awarded the first design-build contract for the Grand Paris Express to a consortium comprising several VINCI Construction and VINCI Energies subsidiaries. The contract covers the first section of line 15 (the western section). This section, located in a very dense urban area, will link Pont de Sèvres station to La Défense (Hauts-de-Seine).

Worth €2.71 billion, 20% of which will be awarded to local SMEs, the contract covers the design and construction of 14 km of tunnels, 5 stations (Saint-Cloud, Rueil-Suresnes Mont-Valérien, Nanterre La Boule, Nanterre La Folie and La Défense), a back station at Nanterre La Folie and 16 service structures.

The project will employ more than 2,000 people at its peak, and 10% of the hours worked will be carried out through social integration. Committed to the Société du Grand Paris in an ambitious approach to reducing its environmental footprint, the consortium will mainly use low-carbon and very low-carbon concretes.

In addition, VINCI will mobilise its Chantiers et Territoires Solidaires endowment fund, which supports community projects of general interest to promote access to employment and the creation of social links in the communities crossed. VINCI Construction and VINCI Energies companies are already working on several sections of the Grand Paris Express, notably line 15 South between Pont de Sèvres and Noisy-Champs and line 18 between Orly and the Saclay university campus.
